If I have said it once, I’ll say it again, shooting a Wahclella Falls elopement in the Columbia River Gorge is one of my all time favorites! Wahclella Falls is one of the most epic Pacific Northwest waterfalls to hike to, hang out at, shoot epic elopements at, and day trip to when road tripping to the Portland, Oregon area. Wahclella Falls is just a short one mile hike into the base of the waterfall, through old growth forests, rippling streams, bridges, and well cared for trails. Well, with the invention of Pinterest, Google, and Instagram couples all over the world are finding their adventurous spirit and throwing traditions aside and choosing to elope at the base of this stunning waterfall. Who knew that waterfalls and elopements were the in thing, but they are, and I hope that it never changes!
On the Wahclella Falls trail you will come to a split in the trail. To the left, the trail continues up through the forest to the waterfall. To the right, the trail drops to a bridge, crosses, and proceeded upstream to the falls. An upper bridge just below the waterfall allows for the loop. Which way you should go depends on how you want to be introduced to the falls. If you would like your first impression of the waterfall to be up close and in full glory, select the upper trail to the left. If, on the other hand, you prefer to begin with a distant view of Wahclella Falls and track in for a close up, select the lower trail. Both routes to the waterfall are approximately 0.3 miles in length.
I LOVE SHOOTING ELOPEMENTS! If you are planning a Wahclella Falls elopement in the Columbia River Gorge I espeically would love to chat with you! If you love elopements as much as I do and are looking for a photographer to adventure with for your Pacific Northwest Adventure Elopement, LET’S CHAT!
